GLIAS is currently looking for a volunteer the following position:
Tebbutt Research Fund
- Sales officer: following the appointment of its sales officer to an important job on the history of the gas industry GLIAS has an immediate vacancy for this position. The duties include the sale of the society's, and other, publications at IA events, eg SERIAC and the AIA conference, and, hopefully, at lecture meetings. The ability to transport stocks of publications to venues is therefore an important qualification. While there are certain minimum requirements, which can be discussed with applicants, it is also a job which is what the holder makes of it. The position carries ex officio membership of the executive committee. The position is currently vacant and the successful candidate can take it up immediately on appointment.

This fund was established by the Wealden Iron Research Group as a tribute to the life and work of the late C F Tebbutt, OBE, FSA for grants towards research, including associated expenses, into any aspect of the Wealden Iron Industry. It is anticipated that approximately £100 plus will be available from the fund. Anyone interested should write a letter of application giving details of themselves and information about the research envisaged. This should be sent by the 31st March 2008.
